ERIC DONNENFELD, MD, NAMED MOST INFLUENTIAL IN OPHTHALMOLOGY BY THE OPHTHALMOLOGIST IN THEIR THIRD ANNUAL THE POWER LIST
Long Island, NY, April 19, 2018: Recognizing the most influential people around the globe in ophthalmology, The Ophthalmologist, an internationally recognized magazine, named Eric Donnenfeld, MD, of OCLI and Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut (OCC) to its third annual Power List 2018 naming the Top 100 most influential people in the world of ophthalmology.
The Power List, which publishes each April, is an international celebration of ophthalmology’s thought leaders and inspirational talents, and this year focuses on the most influential people in the world of ophthalmology. More than 36,000 readers across Europe and North America vote for their peers for inclusion in this annual list. Receiving this accolade is acknowledgment by his contemporaries that Dr. Donnenfeld’s contributions to the advancements in ophthalmology are only expected to grow in influence over the next decade.

During his nearly 30-year career, Dr. Donnenfeld has lectured and taught around the world, and has made significant advancements in the field; he was the first surgeon in the northeast US to perform laser cataract surgery, participated in the studies that led to FDA approval of the excimer laser technology. - Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology NYU
- Current Editor-in-Chief of EyeWorld and has written over 190 peer-reviewed papers on cornea, external disease, cataract and refractive surgery, and 30 book chapters and books.
- Participates on the editorial board of 9 journals and has participated in over 60 FDA studies.
- A primary investigator of both the excimer laser and femtosecond laser for cataract surgery.
- Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has received its Honor Award, Senior Honor Award, Life Time Achievement Award, and Secretariat Award.
