Charles Niles, MD, is a board-certified Ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery using both laser and surgical techniques, including laser-assisted cataract surgery with multifocal and toric intraocular lenses. In addition, Dr. Niles was the first fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist in Western New York.
Dr. Niles is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Buffalo Medical School and an avid researcher. Most recently, Dr. Niles presented on the effects of laser-assisted cataract surgery on intraocular pressure. He is the founder of the Student Site Savers program which provides glaucoma screenings for patients in underserved areas in Western New York.
Dr. Niles will be concluding his time with OCLI Vision, with his final day of patient care on March 25, 2026. After nearly 40 years of caring for patients in the Buffalo community, he is retiring from clinical practice.
