Biography
David Sachs, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in sutureless cataract surgery, cornea transplant surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Sachs graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then received his medical degree, graduating in the top of his class from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his transitional year at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and then completed an ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Sachs remained in Long Island for a one-year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery. During his fellowship Dr. Sachs specialized in cataract surgery, multifocal intraocular lenses, cornea transplants and the latest techniques in laser and refractive surgery.
During his training Dr. Sachs was very active in ophthalmic research. He has written numerous articles and two book chapters, and has been involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. Dr. Sachs is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
