Biography
Jerry D’Aversa, OD, is a New York State licensed optometrist with a focus on medical eye care. Dr. D’Aversa completed his undergraduate studies at Manhattan College majoring in Psychology with cum laude honors. He received his professional Optometry degree from State University of New York College of Optometry with Beta Sigma Kappa honors.
Dr. D’Aversa specializes in pre and post-operative surgical co-management, emergency eye care, and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and ocular surface disease. He has traveled to medically underserved communities in Panama and Grenada to provide comprehensive eye care. Dr. D’Aversa has given lectures on cataract surgery management and ocular surface disease. Additionally, Dr. D’Aversa is able to provide specialty contact lens fittings to OCLI patients with unique corneal and refractive needs.
