Biography
Christopher R. Adam, MD was born and raised in Long Island and graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook University with a bachelor of arts in economics. After working in financial services, he was employed as a radiologic technologist while completing his pre-medical course work. Dr. Adam went on to receive his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Science University in Brooklyn, NY. He then pursued advanced training, completing a two-year surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
In addition, Dr. Adam has contributed to numerous approved clinical studies and has authored and coauthored a long list of articles that appeared in publications and presented his research at national meetings. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. Dr. Adam holds membership in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Vitreoretinal Research Group, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Adam is an associate at OCLI Vision, a well-respected, multi-practice group representing a broad spectrum of specialties in ophthalmology and optometry. He sees patients in our Patchogue, Port Jefferson, and East Setauket OCLI Vision offices.
