Biography
Ronald Caronia, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery and is a senior partner of OCLI Vision. He has been in practice for over 25 years and sees patients in the Rockville Centre and Oceanside offices.
He received his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from New York Medical College. After his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as chief resident, Dr. Caronia completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Caronia is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. He has published numerous articles in the major journals of ophthalmology and has spoken nationally on various topics in the field of glaucoma. He has also written a textbook about glaucoma. Dr. Caronia is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Medical Society of the State of New York, Nassau County Surgical Society, Long Island Ophthalmologic Society, New York Glaucoma Society, and the American Glaucoma Society.
