Biography

Dennis Slochower, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist whose areas of expertise include anterior segment surgery, glaucoma and external disease of the eye, and higher technology implants.

Dr. Slochower received his BA degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC and his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School (now Rosalind Franklin University) in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his medical internship at Framingham Union Hospital/Boston University Medical Center and his residency in ophthalmology at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City, a leading U.S. teaching hospital.

The recipient of a prestigious award from the Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery for his innovative cataract and implant techniques, Dr. Slochower has authored numerous articles on surgical techniques and produced several surgical films. As assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology and surgery, he taught residents at Hahnemann University Hospital and Cooper University Hospital. Dr. Slochower is the founder and director of The Institute for Diabetic Management and is a member of many professional organizations, serving on committees that are dedicated to improving the delivery of healthcare.
