You don’t have to settle for one-size-fits-all contact lenses. Instead, take advantage of OCLI Vision’s expert contact lens fittings – now available at select locations.

Contact lenses are thin lenses that sit on top of your cornea, the clear outer layer of your eye. About 45 million Americans wear contact lenses as a safe and effective alternative to eyeglasses, but the lenses must fit your eyes properly to deliver optimal results.

Whether you’re a first-time contact lens wearer or seeking a replacement for your current lenses, OCLI Vision’s experienced team will guide you through every step of the fitting process to ensure your lenses offer maximum comfort, durability, and clarity.

Custom contact lenses can offer a lifeline for people with keratoconus, astigmatism, and other complex eye conditions that once made it impossible to experience normal vision. Custom contact lenses can also be beneficial for people whose eyes are a unique size or shape.

When you need more than standard contact lenses, trust the expert providers at OCLI Vision to provide you with the best possible fit. Seeing is believing!

What to expect during your contact lens fitting

Custom contact lens fittings are typically performed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Your OCLI Vision eye provider will follow the steps below to create new lenses tailored to meet your unique vision needs.

  • Measurements – Your eye provider will take precise measurements of your eyes, including the diameter, curvature, and surface of your corneas.
  • Selecting your lens – Your eye provider will recommend the best contact lens option(s) for you based on your prescription, eye health, and lifestyle.
  • Trial lenses – You will receive trial lenses to assess their fit and comfort.
  • Instructions – Your eye provider will provide detailed instructions on how to insert, remove, and care for your new contact lenses.

Count on OCLI Vision to find the ideal content lens and fit for you, starting now.

The eye is a delicate organ

The surface of the eye is protected by a thin layer of tears. Contact lenses that don’t fit properly can easily disrupt this fragile layer and begin to damage the eye.

When this happens, you may experience dryness, redness, pain, or blurry vision. Other signs of poor fit include frequent blinking or tearing, feeling the lens move, or the sensation of a foreign object in your eye.

If you experience any of these symptoms, remove the contact lenses immediately and contact OCLI Vision to begin your custom fitting.

Your eye health is at risk

The potential dangers of wearing ill-fitting contact lenses include:

  • Corneal abrasions – Scratches on the cornea can occur when the lens rubs against your eye.
  • Corneal ulcers – Injuries to the cornea can also cause open sores to form.
  • Tight lens syndrome – If the lens is too tight, it can deprive the cornea of necessary oxygen and nutrients.
  • Eye infections – Poorly fitting lenses increase your risk of keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) and other infections.

Left untreated, these conditions can cause severe discomfort or permanent vision loss in the affected eye – making proper fit even more essential.

We specialize in providing custom solutions

Contact lens fittings at OCLI Vision are a game-changer for many people with complex vision needs. Well-fitted custom lenses that match your unique eye shape and prescription can dramatically improve your quality of life, offering you clear, comfortable vision that’s often superior to glasses or standard contact lenses.

Keratoconus

The team at OCLI Vision specializes in contact lens fittings for individuals with keratoconus, a progressive eye disorder where the cornea gradually thins and bulges into a cone-like shape.

If you have keratoconus, we can provide customized contact lenses designed to address the irregular shape of your cornea and improve your vision. Our advanced technology allows us to offer specialty lenses, such as scleral and rigid gas permeable lenses, that help manage the challenges of living with keratoconus.

Astigmatism

Custom contact lenses can also benefit people with astigmatism, an eye condition that occurs when the cornea or lens inside your eye has an irregular curvature.

This additional curve causes light rays to focus unevenly on your retina (the light-sensitive tissue at the back of your eye), resulting in blurred or distorted vision. OCLI Vision can fit you for specialty lenses that accommodate and correct these focusing errors – also known as refractive errors – and improve your astigmatism significantly.

If you have never been able to enjoy the convenience of contact lenses due to the unique size or shape of your eyes, look no further than OCLI Vision for specialty solutions made just for you.

Caring for your new contact lenses

Getting contact lenses that fit properly is just one part of keeping your eyes safe and healthy. Here are some tips to help protect your new lenses once you take them home:

  • Clean and store them properly – You will need to disinfect and store your contact lenses correctly every time. Use fresh cleaning solution every day and replace your contact lens case at least once every three months.
  • Never sleep in them – Sleeping in your contact lenses can increase your risk of contracting an eye infection by up to 8X.
  • Don’t overwear them – Overwearing your contact lenses can also lead to inflammation and increase the risk of infection. If your eyes begin to feel irritated, take the lenses out. (If removing the lenses does not resolve the irritation, something else could be going on. Contact OCLI Vision for an eye examination.)
  • Take them out for water activities – Water can introduce germs and bacteria to your eyes through contact lenses. Remove your contact lenses before you swim, shower, or bathe.
  • Be aware of symptoms – If you experience redness, discomfort, pain, or worsening vision, remove your contact lenses immediately and call your OCLI Vision eye provider.
